Shine On: The Pink Floyd Experience Indio Concert reviews
Hypnotizing
I highly recommend this show - a Broadway production in Florida with full orchestra and exquisite singing. The sets, costumes, and music create a hypnotic effect. I would go see it again! The only negative that we agreed on is that we could not understand the words in the songs, leaving us a little confused about the story details. We just got the "jest" of the story. Providing a story overview in the program, as they do in ballet, would be helpful. This minor issue is not enough to warrant a negative rating because the show is fabulous.
Ray LaMontagne with Brandi Carlile
1. The show at the Opry House was a nice night.
2. The crowd was delighted to hear The Secret Sisters, who opened with a 3rd act and made a lot of points.
3. Incredible harmonies were showcased by this rising Americana stars.
4. Brandi Carlile came out and took the crowd hostage, owning the place with her amazing live voice.
5. Following Brandi Carlile, Shine On: The Pink Floyd Experience, the headliner, was a polished act.
6. Although I love Shine On: The Pink Floyd Experience's music and their superb band, they don't engage the crowd much.
7. 2/3 through their set, my group started nodding out, but they woke us up with some growling harp playing near the end.
8. Their performance was flawless, just like the CD, but I prefer live versions that have a new spark of energy and connection with the audience.
9. Maybe it was a hologram that made me lose interest, or perhaps my adrenalin was used up by Brandi Carlile.
10. Thanks to Shine On: The Pink Floyd Experience for the overall experience at the Opry House.
